The Africa Trilogy – ASL Online Trailer
Volcano’s Deaf Community Consultant, Jamilla Ross, details how Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing patrons can attend sign language interpreted performances of The Africa Trilogy in this video shot by Karyn McCallum.
In this creative ‘ASL trailer’, Jamilla leads the viewer through Harbourfront Centre in downtown Toronto to the doors of the Fleck Dance Theatre where The Africa Trilogy will take place. She conveys the unique nature of the interpreted shows, as the interpreters are blocked in with the actors on stage for optimal viewing. It’s an exciting way to provide access so that a new patron base can discover these poignant stories.
Interpreted performances are : Fri June 11th 7pm and Sat June 19th 1pm.

I’m pretty sure Jamillah spells her first name with an H on the end.
Oh, I just realized that this is a different Jamilla Ross! My apologies!
